Came at 4pm, stalls just started to setup. A few permanent shops are open. Luckily there is a nice cafe at the very far end are open. Very friendly owner and staff. Can have a nice relax afternoon coffee while waiting for the place to come alive in the evening.

Place has a great vibe with plenty of youth.  Most famous is of course the airplane in the middle of the place (where you can eat) but its surrounded by 20-30 spots that also sell food/drinks and some stalls sell clothes. This place is also called ChangChui. I expected this place to be a little more crowded but its location is a bit out of town so you have to take a taxi to get here.

A very cool place, a bit out of the way from the centre of Bangkok but worth a grab ride, especially on a weekend evening.

Cool little night markets on the quieter side of town. Just make sure your chicken skewers are cooked all the way through. Fresh coconuts and beers are cheap, papaw salad is excellent. Lots of fresh seafood here.

Many food & drinks stalls, very few vegetarian options can be found.  Place is very crowded from 7pm on, so if you wish to find available table to have your meal  better arrive before 19:30 . There is live music in the evening, and sometimes Maui Thai wrestling show on the street .

Great night market with lots of food stalls, many many different options that will satisfy any craving! Grilled fish, pad thai, tom yum, smoothies, juices, coconut sweets, Indian food, they have everything and more! Only thing is it gets very very crowded, so try to come early!

Ao Nang Landmark Night Market

My partner and I are now living in Thailand for one month and were at very different cities but this was the best vegeterian food we've had in Thailand. Especially the Papaya Salad and the Pad Thai are delicious. The only thing is that the location on Google is not correct. Actually you have to go across the street from the location on Google and there is something like a backyard with a few stands and it's the last of these stands. I hope you find it, because it really is a great experience. The aunty is so kind and cute and puts so much effort in the stand.

Amazing Vegan food stand. Hard to find at first, but once you've tasted the lovely ladies dishes you become a regular customer.
Great mixture of noodles, curries, steamed veggies and mock meats. Very cheap and very delicious. Don't leave it to late in the day because she sells out!

Bamboo Garden Healthy Vegetarian Foods

Excellent local Thai floating market, not far from Bangkok City center.
This market offers unique local experience to the visitors, particularly the tourists from other countries.
It's has huge variety of shops selling gits, clothes, shoes, hats, jam and food home made, many great and cheap restaurants and cafes, fruit, veggies and much more.
The market is located 20 minutes walking distance from Bang Na pier, it's very much enjoyable and refreshing to walk it to take the ferry to the other side of the river in order to get to the BTS if you want to.
By the way it's open from 8.00 am until 2.00 pm on Saturday and Sunday only.

This market is MUCH MUCH better than the Chatuchak Weekend Market. It has a much better atmosphere and better prices. It feels a lot more local and authentic.

We enjoyed meandering through the alley ways while buying snacks and drinks. There seemingly unlimited options. There was live music at parks and nice areas to sit and dine.

I highly recommend walking or renting a bike and exploring this little island and make sure you come to this floating market.

A touristy spot with varieties of items sold. There are 2 sections , of which before the entrance sells potted plants and flowers. The actual floating market sells food stuff, clothes, and souvenirs. There are no visible "floating" markets or any sellers selling from boats. The plus point is that the entire market is shaded from the sun. It is a worthwhile visit if in the area. Not the best, but OK.

Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market

The food here was really good, I quite enjoyed the vegetarian spring rolls and the fruit yogurt thing. There was plenty of fruit included and it was super yummy. The decor and ambience is very nice, I loved how quirky and cute the cafe is. The cats come and go, but they seemed friendly enough. My only complaint is that there is no A/C and it can get very hot sitting there, the service is also a bit slow but that is understandable because the lady is making the food fresh to order and I’m fairly certain that she’s the only one cooking. Their prices are very reasonable, would definitely recommend.

Nice little cafe that has many cats you can play with and feed. The owner of the shop is quite friendly and makes some good drinks. Place is small and cozy. Good place to visit and get away from the heat

Quirky, cozy Café with Western-style Breakfast/Brunch menu and salads

I was hunting for some good salads and found it at the Cat Station. Vegetarian is a huge platter of crisp, fresh lettuce piled with carrots, cucumber, red onion, tomatoes, eggs with a (mild) chili dressing. Chicken salad is also good - the meat is not a dry afterthought.

Muesli yoghurt has a good selection of fruits - mango, blueberries, raisin, pineapple, apple, banana, grape; a "thickish" yoghurt with more muesli at the bottom of the bowl.

Cats Station Café

A very interesting market where you can spend a whole day. Most part of the market is only open from Friday to Sunday. You can find food, clothes, decorations, art and much more. It's really worth a visit on the weekend.

Overall pleasant experience. Not as crowded as before but most of the shops along the Main Street still open. Remember to look out for the meatball stall and the stall selling coconut ice cream and mango sticky rice (refer to photos). Meatballs handmade on the spot and it was so good we ordered again 🤪✌🏼. Inner lane shops were mostly closed but we didn’t have time for that also 😂 came at around 12 and left at 6pm with many loots. Rained on the day we came so remember to bring an umbrella as there are shops on both sides of the street.

Only on the weekend this market features pretty much everything any Thai market has to offer. Bargaining is still part and parcel of the exchange.

I suggest finding the maps located at either entrance to help you hone in on any particular purchase you are looking to make.

Take plenty of water and start buy purchasing a fan, because the days are long and hot.

Also loads of affordable massage services in this market and they are air conditioned.

The market also has plenty of food vendors, with pretty much any cuisine you can imagine.

Chatuchak Weekend Market

Great hiking place which is offer nice waterfalls view and good workout. Highly recommend as it is not so crowded as you can enjoy a quiet trekking but need to pay entrance fees

Although the weather was quite hot, we still went to Doi Suthep-Pui National Park to see this place. There are not as many people as we thought, the surrounding scenery is still very beautiful, the air is fresh, clean and cool when we stopped in the hill. That's amazing.

Very popular mountain next to chiang mai.
Houses many temple, waterfalls, observatory and Palace. Good to cover in half a day in bike.

Doi Suthep-Pui National Park

One of the most magical and memorable experience in my life! Our guide Om (spelling?) was very friendly and knowledgeable. My husband and I enjoyed learning so much about each elephant and the Nature Parks mission in rescuing animals. Loved visiting the other animals in the park as well. Lunch was also very enjoyable and exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend this elephant sanctuary!!

Amazing experience! We went for the single day experience. It was one of the best things we’ve done all trip.

The park is well kept, animals respected and well looked after. No sign of any cruelty or abuse. Our guide Tea has such a beautiful bond with the animals. He was a very caring and informative guide- knowing each elephant and their story off by heart. It was a pleasure to be so close to these magnificent creatures whilst respecting them. Free vegan/vegetarian lunch.

Would recommend for anyone wanting to see elephants whilst being considerate of conservation and wanting to avoid animal abuse.

Amazing experience. I did a lot of research on elephant sanctuaries before committing to a tour, because I wanted to make sure wherever I went was truly ethical and acting in the best interest of the elephants and not simply catering to tourists or prioritizing profits. Elephant Nature Park fit the bill. My boyfriend and I did the full day tour and were impressed from start to finish. Reserving tickets and scheduling pick up was easy and the ride itself was uneventful and very convenient. Our guide was so sweet and knowledgeable and the buffet lunch was delicious. All elephants seem to be very well cared for and living as freely as is possible within a sanctuary (vs the wild). Many buffalo and rescued dogs and cats as well. Sanctuary also has a number of additional initiatives that support local communities. Highly recommend if you are looking to visit a sanctuary with confidence and peace of mind that you are supporting a good cause!! FYI there is little direct contact with the elephants, and no scheduled activities (both good things for the elephants and supporting their natural way of living). However, you are always in the direct vicinity of the elephants and my group had great luck and timing and was able to feed one of the older elephants. Be prepared to sit back and relax and observe these incredible creatures from up close, though keep an eye out cause they can sneak up on you!

Beautiful flower market that has many types of flowers to buy for your place. Good prices and selection to choose from, you can create your own assortment or buy a pre-made one. They make a good gift as well if you need to buy for someone special. Roses on site in a beautiful arrangement. Friendly people here and good service

This is a fun area to wander and pick up flowers or just enjoy them. There are many songthaew to take you to other areas further away. If you enjoy walking it is a great walk from the old town, but definitely takes a while.

Huge variety of flowers at good prices. It's also part of a larger market, so you can get other shopping in as well.

Florist Market Mueang Chiang Mai

They have some unique and solid vegan options here. But there's so much more to this place than just food! They've a second hand clothing section that's very affordable, friendly staff, great vibe and good values.

100% of their proceeds go to Thai freedom House, a place that helps refugees! The place has a really progressive vibe, absolutely love it!

Cool vegan cafe with outside seating and indoors. Random second hand clothing store attached. The smoothie bowl is delicious! I had the lemon cheesecake version. It has nice outdoors seating shaded in the morning and wifi. The staff are super friendly and the menu is very creative. There aren’t many non-sweet breakfast items which is a downside.

Wow! Truly heaven for a vegan. The food was delicious. I had the Khao Soi and it was amazing!

The ambiance of the place is also great. They have many vegan products for sale as well as a secondhand shop.

I recommend entirely!

Free Bird Cafe

This was an experience that will stay with me for as long as I live. The beauty here is amazing. If you're lucky enough, you'll be at the top just as the sun starts to set, and it gets dark. That's when you get to see the unexpected. As you gaze in the distance, you'll see many other temples shining in contrast to the night. Just beautiful.

One of the most beautiful temple in Bangkok. Said to be built and continuously developed since the reign of Rama I. From the recording, the temple collapsed many times in the past. But it was rebuilt and stable for a long time now.

An iconic temple like standing on the top of golden temple, you can see from a far. You can walk from ground to the top to see the view of Bangkok city.

There are also countless parking lots available. Must come to pay a visit!

A temple which it's absolutely necessary to visit at the time of a visit to Bangkok and which however is not very known. It's located in height and dominates the city with an absolutely spectacular panoramic sight. It's necessary to climb a certain number of steps but at each "plateau", one attends something of magic. Huge gongs with a sublime sound that give us the illusion of being projected in an ancient era, prayer bells with a very nice sound too. Until we reach the temple at the top from which it's possible to go up to admire the golden stupa.
A very nice discovery that I am glad I did not miss.

Golden Mount Temple (Wat Saket)

What a lovely place, mangroove forest is so nice and you will see wildlife on your own. Must go here if you are near this place. Recommend to all. Must try!

It was pretty shallow in the morning. I rent a kayaking for 2 and cost 700 baht. You can kayaking by yourself without tour guide.

To add to your knowledge of Lanna Culture, you need to visit here.It is not a large museum, and the information is in Thai and English.
Some interesting exhibits,
90 baht for farang, but well worth it.
Look out for the information on Lanna courting practises, certainly something from a bygone age.

I enjoyed this museum very much! I was able to gain more knowledge about Lanna culture and history. The admission fee is 90baht.

Nice place to spend an hour or a bit less with information on Lanna culture. For some partes I had wished for more precise information, such as dates, background and meaning of exposition pieces, such as many wooden figures of a certain deity, pottery or fabrics. Some nice photographs too of previous days. 90 baht for foreigners and only open until 4.30pm which is quite early to close. Bathroom is outside around the corner. Taking photos is allowed, but not videos.

Lanna Folklife Museum

Came here since there weren’t many restaurants open anymore around 9PM. Taste was fine, but nothing special really.

We paid 500THB for four dishes, so it’s still very affordable. We also got free mango as a dessert.

It was very quiet when we visited but the owner was very friendly and helpful. We tried the chicken with cashew nut, as well as the Penang curry. Both dishes were fantastic. When asking for the bill, the owner insisted we tried her fresh mango. It was incredibly fresh and lovely.
Well worth a visit to this great Sukhothai establishment.

WoW! What an amazing place to eat. The food was delicious and the service is great! We had the coconut curry and prawns with garlic with extra vegetables, lovely!

Lom&fon kitchen

Tons of vendors selling the same souvenirs so you always have the option of bartering for certain things. On top of that there's a food area with live music that's phenomenal.

It's interesting to witness the difference between day and night at this place. You can almost find everything here: clothes, handmade goods, food, souvenirs, a big shopping mall and lively aura. In the morning, it's peaceful and soothing just to go out and take a walk along the streets. A recommended place to go if you want to shop yourself until forever!

Decent food and walk around the market. However, most of the stalls did not label their price for the goods which is unacceptable.

Night Bazaar Shopping Street

The second best beach of Railay. You have to wait in the afternoon for the low tide to be able to walk it all along. You'll even be able to go walking inside a big rock island. Scenery is amazingly beautiful, white sand and water you can swim in. A great escape.

We were staying on the West Beach in Railey and walked through Princess Caves to come to this beach. It was like we landed on a different planet. We got here just as the sun was setting and the whole beach was bathed in orange light. 'Happy Island' that floats in the ocean a little further from the beach is a wonderful spot and we could swim to this island during low tide. What a magical place!

I went here looking for a swimmable beach, but it's full of tourists and the sea is deep.  The beach was narrow and mainly climbing, not a place to relax.
Anyway, ocean is beautiful!!

Phra Nang Beach

Loved everything about this place. The crew is very welcoming, the atmosphere is quiet and pleasant, but mostly the food is amazing. I’m a big fan of healthy food, and dishes that taste « clean » - this is literally heaven for me. The protein balls were delicious, the tofu salad was very tasty, and the blueberry pancakes were the perfect finish.
The price is a bit steep but the quality justifies it, and I’ll be happy to come back and try more items on the menu.

I absolutely loved this restaurant. They have delicious and healthy food, full of nutrition and they use great quality ingredients. They have everything you could wish to eat on their menu, so we all ordered different things and everything was very tasty! Smoothies were ice cold and cooling on a hot summer evening. U must try.
I’d also highly recommend that you try out their desserts as well. I was so full after dinner but I had to buy some desserts with me to takeaway, as they were looking so delicious in the counter. I’m surprised how vegan cakes can be so delicious! Cashew cake with soy cream was so nutty and yummy, and their banoffee cake was amazing. I wish I could eat it again!

Fantastic experience at this neat and exciting place... ts pure vegan restaurant so heaven for vegetarians and vegans.. I was really impressed with the fusion and ingredients of the smoothie.
Vegan Pizza and spaghetti are must try.. we had super fun and they allowed us to play music and dancing with our group.  We visited the place twice during our stay at Krabi and even repeated some orders again on day 2.

PLANT-ERIAN

We were so happy to have come across this night market randomly. It was in an open area, lots of seating, not too crowded and good live music. The food was great we walked around probably 10 times to make sure we didn’t miss anything.

Open night market far from the old city.  To get there, you go through other markets and street stalls.  Nice atmosphere, although more crowded than Lana Square, pretty strong rock-like music, varied food and a bar where you can buy drinks (higher than average price) you can enter with drinks from other places.

Lots of awesome smelling and looking food options! Had khao soi, mango sticky rice, and a strip of pork belly from different stalls, and everything was great! Would definitely recommend the khao soi stall - 60 baht for the vegetarian version. There’s a decent mix of prices across the stalls, so you can find something in budget. Good vibe on a Friday night with live music and plenty of seating.

Ploen Ruedee Night Market

We walked from East Railey to here to watch sunset. Beautiful sunset! But it was very crowded with loud music from one of the resorts. That kind of ruins the atmosphere fir us.

Very lovely place with beautiful beaches ⛱️  from both side. You have everything that you need here. 🐒🧗‍♀️🚣‍♂️🍉🥭🥥🍕🌮🍤
We didn't stay here but we used boat taxi every day from Ao nang. If you want to sleep here there is a lot types av hotels so you are going to find something good for you and your budget.
There is a plenty of activities to do like climbing, visit laguna and clim to the view. If you want to eat or drink there is one street with different types of restaurants. If you go around you will see a lot of bars. I recommend  beach on the another side, you need to walk but not to much. It's very nice but crowded too.
Do not feed monkeys even if you think it's funny 🚫 🐒

The sunset from the Railay West Beach is really really spectacular. But the loud music and party crowd kind of spoil it all. Still, it is worth watching once but I prefer the quieter Phra Nang Beach for sunset which is just a short walk away. We also caught the boat to Ao Nang from this beach. There is no fixed schedule and the boats depart once there are enough people to fill it!

Railay Beach

Ranahat Je Vegan Restaurant

Rented a bicycle for only 60baht for the day. I used it for a few hours and enjoyed the views and the ride. The park us not too big but it is beautiful. It has a lovely little coffee shop where you can stop for a nice rest and relax for a while. It has beautiful picnic spots around the lake too.

This place is so nice to look around by bicycles than by walking.
you can rent bicycles in front of gate of that park.
This large fertile park with numerous kinds of plants is home to various kinds of animals, for example, birds, butterflies, squirrels, bats, etc.
Especially, i think it's the best site for watching birds on the way to the birdwatching tower.

This park is the best date site for couples riding bicycles ^^

Always a strange feeling to rate a park out of 5. Out of all the great places in Bang Kachao, this was the highlight of my trip.

A beautiful and well managed park. I was able to ride my bike through all the park trails. The wildlife was incredible too. Saw an abundance of fish, various species of birds and some Monitor Lizards!

I'll always visit this place when I'm next in Bangkok.

Sri Nakhon Park

This is a very charming property that leaves little to be desired. The rooms are spacious, clean, well cared for and serene. The grounds are tidy and well designed. Pool is clean and refreshing. The restaurant offers a good selection of primarily Thai dishes, although there are a few western dishes available too. There is an on-site spa offering massages for a slightly higher fee than local establishments but it does offer more luxurious surroundings. The bed was firm but comfortable. Most importantly, service was exceptional (and that includes everyone at the front desk, the restaurant, the spa and the cleaning staff). Recommended.

Hotel and rooms are very beautiful and clean.
Just 1 km from the old town.
Restaurant employees can neither English nor mathematics. But they are very nice and helpful.

Pool is small but that's enough.  Unfortunately only 8 sun loungers in the sun. That's very, very little!

The hotel has got the typical Sukhothai vibes of old Siam, the rooms are comfy, the area enchanting, breakfast excellent, the staff lovely - BUT: the brochure stating the rooms are with pool view tells a lie. Many rooms just look onto walls and are dark. Curtains need to be closed to not have lookers from the narrow corridors outside, and when I complained about that, I neither got an apology nor any help to move my things to a room that was according to the description on the booking platform.

Sukhothai Historical Park

Coming to this cooking class was such a great experience. Our instructor was so fun to hang out with for the day. She took us through a local market before going to their organic farm and explained all the ingredients that we would be using. She walked us through creating amazing and authentic Thai dishes from scratch which we ate while the staff was preparing our kitchen for the next dish. After we were finished, we were given a cookbook for the dishes we made and were offered help through email for any questions that we have afterward. I highly recommend this class when you visit Chiang Mai. It was a wonderful experience for our family and one that we will never forget.

We had a spectacular day there, cooking, frying, joking, learning about the culture. Our instructor Fah was very organized and friendly so that everyone could enjoy the course. We first went to a local market to learn about some of the ingredients and then continued to the farm. After a tour through their garden (take an insect repellent with you) to learn more about the herbs and veggies we started pounding our own curry paste. There are lots of dishes to chose from and you can add as many spices as you want (and dare ;). The food was delicious, maybe because of the great ingredients or because we cooked it ourselves. 100% recommend!

Super fun experience and learned how to make a soup, a noodle, a curry, and a dessert. Also loved how before coming we went out to the garden to look at and smell the different greens that we will be using. They do a lot of the prep work and you just do the cooking, which was nice but also wishes we got to do more of the prep work (like select and cut the veg). Overall was really fun and very worth the time and money!

Thai Farm Cooking School Class

I went to the Grand Palace on a weekend, and paid 1000 baht for an English-speaking guide who was one of several independent(?) guides offering their services at the main entrance.

Dress code was unnecessarily strict. My partner had to raise her arms above her head to prove that her top will not lift and reveal her belly. Even after entering, I witnessed guards approaching a modestly dressed tourist and asking her to cover her shoulders! However if you enter the grounds fully covered, even with the tattiest clothes and the nastiest flip-flops, you'll be absolutely fine. Alright enough with the whingeing.

The buildings were really lovely, with gold leaf and coloured glass featuring on the exterior and interior of many buildings. There's also an interesting fusion of European and Thai aesthetics, reflecting a particular period of Thai history.

Many buildings were not open to the public and had to be admired from outside. More informational signs would also be great.

In all, probably a must-see in Bangkok.

Cool temple grounds to see! Very ornate and historical. Great sight seeing place. Lots of ornate structures. Very beautiful and well kept grounds. We ended up buying tickets on site, they take cash or card. You can reserve tickets ahead of time, but the website only lets you purchase for the following day not same day so we just showed up and bought tickets. Please cover yourself or you will be denied entry! Pants for men and women and dress modestly. There are vendors outside that sell pants and clothing for covering up. The decorations and statues are all amazing to see. Very cool experience. Great for photography.

A must visit place in Bangkok full of history, ornate architecture, and art.  The stunning detail found throughout the complex is mind boggling.  Take your time and meander your way through the property-you won’t be disappointed.  Every corner provides rich new attractions for the eye.

Foreigners take note - you cannot wear shorts, you will not be allowed to enter.  There are vendors around the entrance that will see you a pair so don’t distress, just have 200 baht handy (per pair).

Cool place. I am very glad that Thailand has such a respectful attitude towards its rich culture. The entire territory of the temple looks very beautiful and well-kept. The skill and imagination of the sculptors amazes me. The entrance ticket costs 100 baht, and also at the entrance, all visitors are given a bottle of water along with the ticket. You can also get to the other side of the river by boat for just 5 baht. I recommend to try to see the beauty of the temple when you cross the river by boat.

One of the most iconic temple in Bangkok. It is a very beautiful and spectacular temple.  It is best taken pictures during sun rise or sun set. It is very well maintained cleanliness. This temple can get very touristy as it is very photogenic temple. So ensure to get there early to avoid the crowds. At the entry of the main temple there are many tourist dresses in traditional Thai dress, so at time it get difficult to take pictures on the lawn of the temple.

This is one of the must-see temples in Bangkok. It’s very well kept and there are events held in the evening on the temple grounds. There are a few shops selling traditional Thai dresses for women and there are several boat docks that can take passengers to the other side of the river for a cheap price. The temple itself is beautiful and you can ascend the main central spire to get a good look at the Buddha relics within and the surrounding area. I would definitely recommend checking this place out on your trip to Bangkok.

Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan

A beautiful marble temple located in the heart of  Bangkok! Said to be built even before King Rama V but mainly developed during his reign. The iconic and must-never-miss view is the front temple view, which is also used in 5-baht-coin. There is an area inside the temple that use marble to make floor. So it is beautiful with white and clean feeling.

It is easy to get here by bus, taxi or even drive here. There are around 20 parking lots free of charge.

This is an incredibly magnificent and beautiful temple. Definitely a place to go. A Buddhist temple that entered the list of the 10 most beautiful temples in the world. The entrance is very cheap compared to other temples. Only 50 baht. If you go early, there will be fewer people to take pictures and you will not be overwhelmed in the hot weather.

You will see green buildings as you move on the opposite side of the small bridge inside. It is an area inhabited by monks. It has a very different atmosphere. you should see.

If you happen to be in Bangkok then visiting this temple is must. It's not about religion but about place to cherish for life. We were there on a sunny day and the view was just mind-blowing. I would definitely recommend it to be part of your city tour. Place has a different charm and you feel calm with the entire surrounding.

Wat Benchamabophit Dusitwanaram

Really nice hike up to the temple - would recommend bringing bug spray and a waterproof jacket, particularly if visiting in the rainy season as we did! The hike is fairly uneven underfoot but relatively easy and not very long. Temple at the top is definitely worth it - really impressive views and the temple itself is amazing. Stayed here for ages, really nice place to sit and relax after the hike, and very peaceful.

The off-road trek is somewhat tough but not impossible. Well worth it at the top. Serene temple with sounds of water flowing, nice scenery. Visitors should practise good behaviour and respect and not to treat this holy place as a playground.

This is a nice place to hike. It's a quick hike not that steep but several places with uneven terrain. Can get slippery from dew so be careful. Along the trail there are a few small waterfalls. The sign says a bird watching trail but we couldn't find it. You really get a feel of being in the jungle on this trail. At the top you have nice views of the city, waterfalls and lots of Nature areas to explore. The temple looks very old and Indiana Jones vibe. Tip: you can park your car or motorbike at the trail head but space is limited. During high traffic times you can park by the Basecamp Coffee House and hike from there. You should be able to get up & out in 1.5hrs. If you have not been you here you should try it. Enjoy!

Wat Pha Lat Hike (Monk's trail)

The highlight of this temple is the giant golden 150 feet long reclining Buddha. The surroundings of the temple have a few pagodas and Wat Pho is just within walking distance (approximately a 10-minute walk) from the Grand Palace.

Wat Pho is now a center for traditional massage and medicine but was the first public university in Thailand to focus on religion and literature back then.

Other than the reclining Buddha and pagodas, there is nothing much to explore in this temple. It is advisable for visitors to strictly follow the dress code for any temple in Thailand including Wat Pho. Women must wear skirts or pants extending at least to the knee and strictly not wear a top that reveals bare shoulders.

A wonderful temple. Thailand's cultural heritage is as always fascinating and awe-inspiring. The territory of the temple is quite large, it will probably take about one and a half hours to appreciate all the sights. I liked the mosaic structures in the courtyard of the temple and the interior painting of the temples and the variety of statues the most. Well, of course, the statue of the reclining Buddha looks very cool, as well as the painting on his feet. The entrance ticket costs 200 baht, also with the entrance ticket you can get a free bottle of water from the machine.

Wat Pho is beautifully built and exquisitely show cases the culture of Buddhism. Entrance fee is 600 Baht for foreigners and the last time for entry is 6pm. The place has some amazing color and symmetry and the statue of Buddha are intensely captivating. We were lucky to visit in an amazing weather with rain fall. Got stuck here since it started raining like crazy but overall a very amazing experience. Must go!

Wat Phra Chetuphon (Wat Pho)

A stunning temple complex where every detail reveals extraordinary stories. On the walls of one of the main buildings there are some old pictures where we can see some of people selling food, eating together around the temple, as for an instance. Inside the walls of the temples there is a Cafe in the entrance selling a very cold and sweet coconut water, along with Hmong beautiful clothes.

Very impressive collection of Temple buildings set in tranquil grounds. Has to be one of the best Temples in the Old City. Magnificent large Gold Stupa. There are little gems of Buddhist teaching pinned to trees in the grounds. In the main building a group of monks were gathered sitting in a line and chanting. People come here to make merit and light candles.

This temple in Chiang Mai, which is also the most famous in the city, is located in the heart of the city center and is absolutely beautiful to visit.
Lanterns are hung in a temple at the back of the main one and seem to fly in the sky. It's all the more remarkable to admire during a sunrise or sunset.
It's really worthwhile to stop and stroll around the garden, and simply take your time.

Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan

I don't give out 5 stars easily but the "Silver Temple" here is probably the single most beautiful building of around 20 Temples I've seen in Chiang Mai so far. Amazing detailed metalwork. For some reason whilst women can't go inside this building, they can visit the second main assembly hall and tradition temple building. There are a number of craft stalls on this site and shrine "Elephant Buddha Statue" where offerings were being made.

I was fascinated by this small silver temple and its detailed craftsmanship. Although it is outside the walls of the old city, it is worth the walk. Unfortunately, women can not step inside the temple but the exterior is more impressive anyways.
