Wonderful hotel! The location is beautiful and very convenient. The staff is very nice. They offer daily morning walks with a guide for free, as well as free bike rentals. The inner yard is so pleasant. It even had chickens, whose eggs you can take home! One of the highlights of my Japan trip!

The best hotel we stayed in Japan! The staff are friendly and kind. The dinner menu is excellent, the dishes exquisitely created, delicious, with perfect drink pairings. I love the eco friendly ethos which is implemented so well, and you see has been well thought out in every aspect of the hospitality. The location is excellent, right next to the deer park. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel with amazing dinner and breakfast. So delicately prepared. Would have been the absolute best if they had an Onsen but I settled for the eco foot spa which was nice as well. Highly recommend the 7am free walking tour.

Hotel Setre Naramachi

30-1 Shimosanjōchō, Nara, 630-8236, Japan

Conveniently located, you’ll pass by it on the main road on the way to Nara Park. Store owner is very sweet and friendly. The texture and taste of the Plain flavour was the best in our opinion. The rest were good too, but a little sweet. Remember to refrain from walking and eating if you can! :)

P.S. melon pan does not actually contain melon for those who are wondering

Delicious. Simple melon pan. Slightly crunchy outer shell with a fluffy texture inside. The shopkeeper is very friendly. We would gladly visit and buy again.

Saw this on tiktok and had rave reviews. Not expensive, and the shop attendant was very nice and heated the bun up. Basically a sugar crusted melon bun, was a bit disappointed as that was pretty much it. A bit average, I feel it was a bit hyped up.

A nice park with quite a few temples to visit, the main attraction would probably me the deer which some of them can be quite aggressive and may bite as well. But there's a hill within the park which cost 150¥ to enter and the view on top is pretty good

Fun experience, the park was filled with deer. Some are friendly as others wrote but don’t be fooled, once you feed one they will attack you and try to eat your clothes while politely bowing. Other than feeding animals, you can see many old buildings and enjoy the calm atmosphere.

Lovely park with tons of deer and their stuff they leave behind including the smell. You can buy cookies to feed them with. The deer in the entrance are apathetic and the deer in the less common areas will run you over if you take out a cookie. Only one deer kind of bowed. They are still cute to look at and are likely to let you pet them.

Nara Park

This temple holds Japan's largest bronze Buddha. It was amazing to see the Buddha and the structure of the temple. If you are in Nara Park its worth to pay the entrance fee to see it. There are some shops inside the temple that sells charms and other stuff. There is a sign on the side of the main stone stairs that you are not allowed to sit there. Please be respectful of the temple when visiting.

As impressive as it is peaceful. You feel very small when you walk up to the main building, and even smaller standing in the incredible presence of the giant Buddha. It costs 600¥ to enter but I recommend spending the 1000¥ to get tickets to the museum first. Try to see the museum first (located outside the big gate). I didn’t, but it’s clear that is how the experience is intended to go.

A must see if at Nara park. Worth the entry fee to see the amazing statues. We were almost too tired to walk there but were very glad we did.
It is hot during the summer months so come prepared with water, umbrella and hat.
